A lifelong resident of western Massachusetts, Dr. Matthews graduated from the Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 1995 and began practicing in the area in 1998 upon completing a specialty residence at Children's Hospital of Michigan. His staff consists of highly experienced and well-trained associates, hygienists, assistants, and receptionists. Dr. Matthews understands kids, their teeth, and their parents' concerns.
What qualifications and education are required for pediatric dentists?
A pediatric dentist must complete a minimum of 24 months in an advanced education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association (ADA). These programs are designed to provide special knowledge and skills beyond DDS or DMD training. These programs focus on the best ways to care for children and their dental needs.
Dear Dr. Matthews - thank you for my toothbrush.
I wanted to write and thank your office for making today's visit such a pleasant one. Everyone we came in contract with was super, from the receptionists to the hygienist. It was my daughter's first exam, and it couldn't have been a better experience for her. The hygienist was friendly, fun and very patient. My daughter sent the rest of the day telling people about her visit and flashing her "sparkly teeth". Thank you. We will certainly recommend your office to others.
My child loves coming here.
Mrs. L "wants to come here herself" - fun place to be
Mrs. D (Bradley's mom) said, "this was a wonderful experience!" and "thank you"
Mrs. D states we are all wonderful from start to finish. We are the best.
Thank you so much for all that you do for our family. You have always been so kind helping us out each step of the way. You are your staff are truly wonderful. Thanks again and again.
This is a great office for small children. They are super efficient at the front desk, there is no time wasted waiting for paperwork. The offices and waiting rooms are both super clean. The waiting room is very entertaining and comfortable for children. The dental staff are both pleasant and efficient as well. I wish they had offices like this for adults!!!
The Kids Dentist is a wonderful, caring pediatric dentist practice. The staff are kind and patient with all of their clients. Dr. Mathews is always smiling and great with kids.
The Kids Dentist is a wonderful dental office. The staff is very gentle and compassionate even to the most fearful child. Dr. Matthews is very nice and the kids really like him. We've been patients there for almost 20 years, dealing with Dr. Epstein before he retired. We'll continue to use them as long as we can.
My son and daughter went to Drs. Epstein and Matthews in Springfield on to Dr. Matthews in W. Spfld. The facility is kid friendly and the staff interacts well with children. My kids would still go there if they were younger. Appointments were easy to make and there was never an issues with the dental insurance.
The Kids Dentist is a great place to bring your children for dental care. The unique atmosphere is inviting and funky. The staff is warm and welcoming. Dr. Matthews is very gentle and great with kids. All kids love the Kids Dentist!
Dr. Matthews and his staff is fantastic!! My kids do not complain about going to the dentist and I think it is because of the atmosphere they bring. They are always very friendly and non-threatening!
This is the right place to bring kids to the dentist. Bright "fischer-price" colors, plasma tv viewing and super friendly staff. The best thing of all is no pain and no fear.
This place has it all - modern, bright building, friendly and gentle hygienists, TVs in the exam rooms, toys to take home at the end of each visit, no insurance hassles, and dentists who are happy to speak to the parents after their child has been seen.
